Rachana KC — Kathmandu, Nepal
The Poet
I write because the mountains taught me that silence, too, has something to say.
Rachana KC is a Nepali poet whose work lives in the space between altitude and emotion — where the Himalayas press against the sky and a woman presses against the edges of what she has been told she is allowed to feel.
Born and rooted in Nepal, Rachana's verses carry the texture of monsoon-soaked earth, the smell of marigolds at Dashain, and the particular loneliness of loving something vast and immovable. Her writing spans the intimate and the political: a daughter's grief, a city's transformation, the body as both landscape and battleground.
Her poetry is not performance. It is the quiet, radical act of a woman writing herself into existence — one careful, luminous line at a time.
